Associate Veterinarian 

 

 

Description of role:

Our veterinary clinic, specializing in dogs and cats, seeks an experienced, highly reliable Veterinarian to join our practice. We're interested in talking to you if you genuinely love animals, if you have your own dogs and cats at home and if you're as committed to pet parent education as you are to treating animals. Our clinic focuses on preventive medicine as well as surgical intervention, particularly for spaying and neutering animals. We're looking for an experienced vet who wants to work in a friendly, supportive atmosphere with other dedicated professionals.

 

Tasks:

  • Examine and treat animals on a first-come, first serve basis as well as by appointment

  • Cultivate positive relationships with customers and their animals through regular communication and excellent record-keeping

  • Prioritize traumatic injuries and serious illnesses to ensure that all animals receive time-sensitive care

  • Educate clients on the importance of vaccinations, heart worm treatments, flea and tick treatments and other aspects of preventive care

  • Perform or assist with surgeries

  • Train new veterinary assistants and other members of the support staff

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • 1+ years' experience preferred as a veterinarian

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree required

  • Working knowledge of digital radiography

  • Dedication to long-term employment with our clinic

  • Friendly, helpful personality

  • Willingness to participate in continuing education courses every five years

Experience:

Vet Assistant / Technician

Description of role:

We're interested in talking to you if you genuinely love animals if you have your own dogs and cats at home and if you're as committed to pet parent education as you are to treating animals. Our clinic focuses on preventive medicine as well as surgical intervention, particularly for spaying and neutering animals. We're looking for an experienced veterinary assistant or technician who wants to work in a friendly, supportive atmosphere with other dedicated professionals.

 

Tasks:

  • Assist Veterinarians to examine and treat animals on a first-come, first serve basis as well as by appointment

  • Cultivate positive relationships with customers and their animals through regular communication and excellent record-keeping

  • Assist with prioritizing tasks and traumatic injuries and serious illnesses to ensure that all animals receive time-sensitive care

  • Educate clients on the importance of vaccinations, heart worm treatments, flea and tick treatments and other aspects of the preventive care

  • Preparing animals for exams or surgery

  • Keeping accurate and thorough chart notes.

  • Giving animals nursing care or first aid

  • Collecting and test lab samples

  • Taking and developing X-rays

  • Giving medications, shots, or treatments

  • Collecting and maintaining patient records

  • Ensure the premises is kept clean before work resumes

  • Uses the right cleaning solutions in cleaning surgery and lab rooms

  • Stock up on cleaning supplies and carries out any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Greet and Welcome Customers as soon as they arrive at the office

  • Direct Visitors to the appropriate person and office.

  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls.

  • Ensure the Reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary materials. (e.g. pens, forms, and brochures)

  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.

  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries.

  • Complete order supply requisition of office supplies and inventory of stock.

  • Schedule/Adjust client appointments.

  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, and faxing.

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • 1+ years' experience with Animals
